We are currently at 18 recruits committed to LSU in 2010.

My final projections are as follows:

    2 five star
    14 four star
    11 three star

    27 total recruits

    2483 points
    3.67

Storm, Seastrunk and Reed take us to 21.

    Ginsburgh at punter makes 22.
    A kicker makes 23.
A late blooming Louisiana player makes 24.

Three other 4 star prospects we have our sights on commit to LSU to round us out to 27.

Projecting Hardrick to be a 4 star as well.

LSU finishes at #5 in the nation in recruiting.

I thought I would throw this out there to give people a sense of where we are headed nationally.

The class is filling up fast. Knowing the limit is now 28; knowing that we'll hold scholarships for Reed, Seastrunk, and Johnson; there's not many spots left. I didn't realize how the SEC limit of 28 would have the effect of speeding up the commitments. You better hurry up and secure your spot now because it's not just LSU who's completing their class rapidly, you can't be confident there's gonna be a place for you somewhere else as well.

We might decide to "slow play" a recruit but recruits can't slow play LSU anymore.

This should make for an interesting July camp because there isn't much time left for being indecisive anymore...if you want to be a Tiger.

This is definitely the highest total of commitments I can remember at the end of July for LSU.

As long as Miles is getting the guys he wants, it's great! The staff doesn't seem to offer players they are not sure about and haven't seen in person. If the guy has a commitable offer in hand it means they are someone the staff wants and the sooner that player commits the sooner the staff focus in on recruits needed to fill the last spots.

    Agreed.

Les Miles definitely does not have to "settle" for players. He is signing the players he wants.

And of course the fact the star ratings are for show and are way off base often times. And that will remain the case until rivals/scout can figure a way to implement the size of someone's heart into their fancy equations and make it weigh about 60 percent of the formula. Until then, it's a crapshoot far too many times.

Here is my prediction but will likely change after the info comes out after camp.

2 RBs -- Lache and Storm (Others: Blue (Prep?), Parker, Dontae)

1-2 WRs/ATH -- Reed and Fobbs (Carter, Wright)

    0-1 TE -- Dickson Only

LB -- Shaun Lewis, Michael Taylor, or Telvin Smith

    CB -- Mathieu

DT -- Byran Jones (Calvin Barnett, Fre'shad Hunter, etc...)

    P -- Ginsburgh (P/K Russ)

That would put us at 25-27.

Sign and Place candidates: Alfred Blue, Churphy Steward or Risean Broussard
