Yes that was under Saban. Point is that it is worse than useless to whine about it now. As George Patton said "Don't take counsel of your fears" it was part of a speech worth reading. http://www.weekdaywisdom.com/mm040201.htm Tigers can't worry about the past they just need to bear down and kick some dog ass.
I don't think most are whining just saying the coaches say you improve the most from game 1 to 2 for a reason. Which is true for the most part.
I think you should reread the original post (see below), that's exactly what I was saying. Try and read a little more next time
Your first post wasn't what I responded to. However it was dead on. The post I responded to sounded like whining that we were screwed because we didn't get a warm up. I stand behind my point that you don't worry about what you can't affect and be confident in what you are doing. I apologize if I misconstrued your point.
No worries man. I am in complete agreement with you about all this fuss and whining regarding how it will alter LSU's play. In my opinion its no different then opening up with a tough OOC game like mentioned. Also, if we cant beat State, its not because we didn't get to play against McNeese. If we cant beat State, its because we have issues as a football team.
Kind of how I look at it. If LSU is as good as they'll need to be to make it through the SEC this year, then the warm up game or lack thereof is of no consequence. They either have it or they don't. If they're as good as we hope they are, then the Bulldogs are our warm up game. Just to put it in perspective, the SEC has 10 teams in the top 25 right now.. that's the first time ANY conference has done that, and the conference went 12-1 in the opening week... We got our work cut out for us.
We do. And if we lose to State, then we will most likely lose to the barn as well. At that point, I just want to see improvement week to week and hope that down the stretch we can ruin some seasons. But for now, phuck all that, and lets go whip Mississippi States A$$! Last time we went to Davis Wade we hung damn near 60 on them.
Don't see it. My early keys to the win: The D has to be solid early. I suspect it to be a run heavy early part of the game to get Harris settled in. Have to keep those stupid cowbells under control. Then start with the passing game.
