Just for you Shane! 32 seconds of ear bleeding pleasure in a constant loop... http://www.vuvuzela.fm/
I am in agreement. We treat the State game just like we always do when we open in big games.....Wisconsin, TCU, Oregon, etc. Opening our season in a big game away from Tiger Stadium has been done successfully plenty of times in the past.
This. ^^^ Southern Miss put up over 400 yards of offense on State. I know LSU has more talent than Southern Miss. Also, Southern Miss gave up big plays. 49 of Dak's 72 yards rushing came on 1 play. 35 of Holloways 51 yards rushing came on 1 play. So. Miss. also gave up pass plays of 44 and 42 (that's over 35% of Dak's passing yards) not to mention the 100 yard KO return. If you limit those big plays, State looks even worse. And as I mentioned, LSU is WAY better than Southern Miss. and if we are not, we are in serious trouble. I understand that a tune-up game is always a luxury, especially for a young QB. But its not like a tune-up game makes our next opponent any better or worse.
well as long as its fresh squeezed from canes ill take a large. tell miles to keep his grassy mitts off of it too. thats cute and all but not reality. we can treat it like an nc game too but its not. we just need to overcome being behind a game of reps to the cowbells then take care of business. talent should win out.
Basically, its our 1st game of the year and its against a quality team (not an FCS cupcake). We get no game to work out kinks.
Whine whine whine...in 2011 we started against 3rd ranked Oregon and kicked ass, last year against a Wisconsin team that is better than Moo State and won (kicked ass in the 4th). If we are a good team and focused it doesn't matter who we play. Going out with a crybaby attitude gets you nothing.
Oregon didn't have a warm-up game against a cupcake while we didn't as in the case of Moo vs USM. In 2002 LSU opened up in Blacksburg vs Virginia Tech after they had a tuneup opener and we didn't. We got our asses beat.
