Me too. This will be an interesting game against two similar teams that are better on defense than offense. I hope you guys pull this out. I'm a Bama fan but I will be pulling for LSU like I always do in OOC games (and many SEC games).
people say that all the time they wouldnt touch a certain game. makes no sense really except to say they have no feel for it. any game can go either way regarding the spread. its usually best to lay off a team you have any emotional ties to however. this forum is a great example why. LSU by 50 is the average prediction.
Scott before he broke his collar bone, was running pretty well against Bama, and Bama's defense in all fashions are better than PSU. If Scott returns for the bowl game, with Ridley as a 2nd punch, I like our chances running the ball... which will open up our recievers. Not saying we'll blow PSU out, but I like LSUs chances.
I'm not going to get into the conference debate. I will say, if you want to beat Penn State (which LSU certainly has the talent to do), you have to be able to get pressure with your down four, and be able to run the ball. Period. If Scott is back, I like your chances at the second of these. He's an incredibly good back, and physicality is essential if you're going to run on PSU. Secondly, if you need to blitz to get to clark, he's great at making those reads and hurting you. it's when you can pressure him without leaving holes in the back 7 that he gets frustrated and starts to make mistakes. He's also prone to taking sacks when he could/should throw it away. I see this as a close game, and think it should be one of the better bowl games. I don't think it'll be a blowout. It's two good teams that have beaten up average and poor teams, but both struggled against the best teams on their schedules. Each have strengths, and previous seasons, or other conference teams don't really play any role in how this game is going to play out. It's about LSU v. PSU, period, and should be a great slobberknocker of a game! I'm definitely looking forward to it. Good luck to the Tigers and Lions! Go Bucks!
this may worry some LSU fans, but not me. i have faith in our secondary (minus McCray.) LSU has been playing patch-work defense this season -- whatever it takes to get the job done. we were one busted play (and two injuries) away from beating the best team in the country (BAMA.) i don't think we should have any real problems with PSU, but you never know. what i'm worried about is our offense. they've been getting better as the seaso has progressed. i think from a talent and personnel standpoint we're fine. i just hope the coaches understand that this is the last game of the season and they don't hold anything back. i think that if they game plan to the strengths of the players on offense, we'll be OK. of course i have been saying the exact same thing every week. i don't think this will be a high scoring affair. 21-20... not sure who's going to win it though.
If I were betting, I'd take the Tigers and the points. Bet the history, which indicates :milesmic: has few equals at preparing a team for a bowl game. Tirk, update your sig!!! 13NO, baby!
I'm taking LSU! in this one. I hope it's the type of win that can help all appreciate  was worthy of their 3rd best ranking in the incredibly tough SEC. Roll Tigers!!! Life Is A Mission: Mine is to stamp out SEC prejudice in my life time.
