Yea I get it. I go to just go and have a good time with friends and family etc but I coach for a living so I get enough of the serious side of it every day. OP asked for what folks do for the early games so replied with what we always did.
Okay, @red55, but the lugging to the remote site was anywhere on campus (meaning lugging that stuff from home.)
More like meaning lugging that stuff from Texas. Where your daughter goes to UT it won't be so far to lug.
Tailgating and good food and drink are part of the ambiance of Tiger football. Sure, most people are there because of the football game but you might as well make it a good experience. For what it cost these days you want more than 3 hours of entertainment.
For a moring tailgate I have one word: BACON. Bring lots of bacon an the biggest skillet you can find and have lots of lettuce and tomatoes that you can preslice the night before. A bunch of cheese would go good with it too. Fry up the bacon and let everybody make their own BLT's with cheese.
Where in the blue hell did you see this? I know well enough to know that YOU know only 3, well 4 things should ever go on grits. Salt, Pepper, Butter and a Runny Egg
Where there's bacon in a skillet there should be sausage nearby. I can eat sausage for breakfast lunch or supper.
