The good news only 3 Sr and 1 is the punter. The bad news is if we win 10+ games we are going to lose a lot of talent. It's almost becoming sad to see Jr because this may be the last season for them at LSU.
The three biggest Jr's that could leave are Pocic, Tre White and Beckwith. As the season gets along, we will get a better feel. Pocic could stay, work the OT position. Beckwith is getting great coaching, with his size, speed, etc. teams want these guys. As for White, a team never has enough CB's. In college and the NFL, you need three real good ones on a team min. Pocic is the wild card, they know he can play OC and Guard, a year at OT, makes him a sure 1st rounder, a guy that can play all 5 positions on the line in the NFL. Just think of Cam Erving in this years draft. 19th player taken in the 1st round by the Browns. Guys like this don't come around often.
It seems like guys don't care anymore. As long as they are projected in the 4th round or better they leave. I guess the salaries are just to high to turn down. I liked it better when if you weren't at least a 2nd round pick you didn't leave
Could be. I got word about a month early that there was a great chance for Hawkins to stay another year. Pocic isn't like most, in need of money. We'll see as the season ends. I do see Les and Grimes getting ready for who walks and who stays. We finally have depth at the positions. Pocic is a top three player on this team. Some kids still enjoy the college life. Bittersweet, is one way to put this.
He is like most in that he won't risk a senior year career-ending injury like Ciron Black if he's a projected first-round pick. I don't expect Pocic to return. He's 6-7 and rangy, the NFL knows he can play tackle.
The bad news, Juniors leave LSU like its on fire. The 2 best defenders Beckwith and White both juniors will be gone after this season.
Two of the most NFL ready D players. Happens everywhere all the time. Last year I think it was close to 75 that came out early. Hawkins and Alexander were two that could have left early.
