Miles talked about this a little, and I figured I'd come here to elaborate a little, b/c I love all of you guys and gals so much. Early completely shut himself down for a while after the SECCG. Just light conditioning work and that's about it. For those who watch old LSU games from the past 1-2 seasons and then watched a game from the 2nd half of this one, it's clear that Early is and was just a shadow of his old self, because his groin still hampered him from getting off the ball in explosive fashion in order to get open. (That's why the majority of his catches were little screens, because he never really got open down the field). So Early comes to practice after the time off and voila', the old Early is back. He is giving the CBs in practice hell this week, and I expect him to be a force in his last game at LSU, ala Skyler against Iowa.
The dings have definitely taken their toll on us this year. I was very concerned about that going into the SECCG. As long as they've kept their edge during the off time I think we'll be fine. I'm looking forward to seeing the same Tigers take the field as the ones who smoked VT. Plus a healthy ED! If this falls into place, they're gonna give OSU fits! :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
Chris Mycoskie, FOX News Louisiana: Dec 28, 2007 -- "One man who's had to deal with more than his fair share of injuries this season is wide receiver Early Doucet. He was sidelined for the better part of five games. ... Head coach Les Miles has constantly praised Doucet's leadership, whether he's been on the field or forced to watch from the sidelines. Now, Doucet should be at full strength for the biggest game of his life." Chris Mycoskie
