    Footwork has to be the main source of pain in this scenario and that would explain short and overthrown passes.

    What is a sports hernia? I had an inguinal hernia and it wasn't all that painful most of the time.

    Essentially like a inguinal hernia (loop of bowel gets though the abdominal wall and can go down into the groin/testicular area) but higher (goes above the inguinal ligament) and harder to diagnose. These things can be kind of nasty, they feel better for a while then you get out on the field and just when you feel better they jump back in to the for front.
