But not being a coach, supposedly taking a desk job helping our recruiting guy (Nader, I believe).

    Anyone else hear this?

Whoa... talk about a step down. Wouldn't he want to go coach somewhere?

Maybe this is why the d-line stunk it up - he doesn't want to coach. :hihi:

that's not much of a step down.

If he has Nader's job, anyway.

Yeah, I guess it depends on what desk job. I just figured a real coach would want to... coach.

Word is he's not a real coach.

I'm fairly certain that wasn't funny.

This would be kind of a surprise.

Hell, I'd be all for this though. Lane can definitely recruit. Maybe that job at Florida Atlantic fell through or something.

If he has Nader's role, he would:

That's like a Parcells' type job.

VP of football operations kinda thing.

He wouldn't have hiring or firing power like the Tuna does, but he'd help make sure things run smooth over the course of a season and would be active in recruiting.

I heard he would be working with Nader, and would be Nader's replacement upon his retirement.

He'll have some really big shoes to fill replacing Nadar.
