Sometimes I wonder if our high poll ranking is causing some worry in some LSU fans in that they feel some pressure to maintain that ranking. Would we have a different take on LSU's performance and potential if LSU were only ranked between 15-20? Obviously LSU has some flaws which would be the same whether ranked 15 or 5 but I wonder if there wouldn't be a little more optimism with a ranking of 15 and the potential to move up as opposed to having the same flaws but with the very real and almost inevitable drop from a top 5 ranking that is pending. I guess I am thinking about Michigan when I say this since they just squeaked by Indiana yesterday at home by 3 points on a last minute score. They are also 4-0 with a current ranking of 23. They are a traditional powerhouse and that fell on hard times lately. IU hasn't been relevant in the B10 in some time. Michigan's bar is also set pretty high but with a ranking of 23 there is probably more optimism for them to improve their ranking than there is pessimism about losing it.
