If he is there in round 1 should the saints take him? If they can shore up a couple of positions on defense through free agency than I say yes. We need another reciever opposite Colston. Devery is a good 3 man but Bowe is a big physical reciever that would fit the saints offense well.
The Saint's allowed 63 points in the two playoff games. If they don't draft defense first with the weapons they already have on offense it would be uncharacteristic of this staff. (i.e. dumb)
They gave up 24 points to a very good Philly offense. They essentially gave up 17 points to the Bears, the other 22 points caused by turnovers and the safety. All in all the defense was underrated, but definitely could use some improvement. They will sure up this defense. I really think we're just missing a playmaker or two on defense that causes turnovers. 19 turnovers in 18 games is quite pitiful.
I don't know if they need to draft DBowe, but they need to address the secondary thru free agency. There are good corners that will be on the market this year. Now, if Laron is available, which I seriously doubt, they should POUNCE on that. But they do have Colston, Devery, Copper, and, for probably another year or two, Horn. If they could get Copper to be more consistant, they are OK at WR for another couple of years. edit--I almost forgot, they have this kid named Reggie Bush that can pick up a few DOZEN receptions a year as well.
Horn is probably out. If we don't have a solid 2 reciever than teams may be able to double Colston. Copper is a good backup and Devery needs to improve his hands. As I said, if we can sign a good cb maybe another linebacker in free agency than a reciever in round 1 may be the way to go.
The Saints will take the best availible LB or DB/S first. I think we will take LB Patrick Willis if he is not picked up. Great DB/S always drop to the later rounds since there are many and there is always Free Agency.
Saints would draft Bowe if he were still around in the 2nd round, which won't happen. That's the only chance. Bowe as a late first rounder is not a shocker to go that low, most have him right about that point. The Saints won't go to an offensive player unless they feel it's too good to pass up. Bowe will not be considered as such as the 27th pick in the draft. So pretty much no chance Bowe lands at New Orleans. Now Buster Davis as a 3rd round pick. That's a possibility. Eagles should sign Stallworth, which gives Saints 2 third round picks. We may end up getting a receiver in this round. In fact I would be surprised if we waited past the third round to pull the trigger on a wideout.
