I still feel bad for Alexis Serna but the kid went on to win the Lou Groza award the next year. Props to him.
And yes that was a very ugly game, some Tiger Stadium magic definitely involved.

Man what a game that was! I knew at the time that we would win it somehow, I just didn't know how. What an odd and highly entertaining game.

 

hopefully oregon lsu will be even more entertaining and less sloppy

 

I remember the OSU game like it was yesterday but didn't realize Derek Anderson was their QB.

I just have to shake my head watching the Jamarcus Russell highlights. He won us alot of games while he was here, including this one, but who knew at the time that he'd turn out to be a lazy piece of sh!t that squandered his talent in the pros.

For real, dude was the epitome of clutch here and everyone loved him but once he got that rookie contract with that big signing bonus...Bama Boy went downhill from there

 

It couldn't have helped that a biblical flood took place right before kickoff. I remember being SO happy that one lone cloud came to cover the sun, as everyone in the stadium was baking (and I was 3 months pregnant, so it felt even hotter!). Then, 2 or 3 enormous drops of rain fell from said cloud. After that, it let loose.

One of my biggest memories from the game is the streakers during the long lightning delay!
