You are right that I have not read his contract with A&E but he just signed a new one not more than a few months ago and, as stated in both of these artciles, it is common for on-air talent to have "morality" clauses that regulate what they can say while representing the show. And if he is under contract with A&E then he is under contract whether he is filming or interviewing with GQ. The fact that he is now looking for legal ways to get out of that contract tells me that his word means nothing. I hope like hell he does try and do it just to watch the legal battle unfold. And you find it acceptable to make jokes about marrying 15-16 year olds? Is it okay to talk about molesting children also as long as you are just joking? I watched the speech and I know exactly what he said and it is deplorable. Are you saying you support marrying 15 year old girls? I bet you don't have a daughter if you say yes. CNN, nor any other media outlet, has to make a controversy....seems like this dumbass is doing that all by himself. The difference between you and me is that I have read dozens of reality show contracts. Those articles are speculating on what may be in the contrac, and are wrong even in their supposition. Morality clauses are not the norm in Reality TV. The general protocol is that production company can end the agreement with notice, which is a much lower burden. Morality clauses are the norm in scripted TV, and are rare in reality tv. Logical fallacy - Strawman. Not going to argue with this shit. He made a joke, and given the full context of the speech, there was nothing wrong with it. I'm not a Republican. I have never even voted for one. I've been doing what I've been do since I was 16, and this is common, for station management or ownership or whatever. Some don't want any controversy at all, some don't want the kind of controversy that might erupt, and so they make a decision that sometimes is not in the immediate near term based on business. Nah... I'm good... to be honest i'm really tired of politics, and politic driven media. Funny story, I used to be heavy into it. Really heavy, read all kinds of articles on politics, watch news all the time, talk politics with family.... And I was so angry all of the time. One day I just decided to stop, and I cannot even begin to tell you how much happier I am. Obvlivious probably, ignorant on some topics, without a doubt.... but a whole lot happier.
I think you are correct. There probably was a morality clause. However, what has happened here isn't black and white....it's very much a gray area. Morality clauses often allow for the practice of one's religion. In this case, Phil may find relief. As well, one son said of the initial contract...."the three no-compromises were faith, betrayal of family members, and duck season.” But let's not pretend that A&E is anything more than a typical corporate media conglomerate focused on profit. Morality clauses are typically blanket agreements that favor the company and give them broad rights to sever employment quickly and easily. A&E editors were using fake bleeps to create the misconception that the Robertson's were cussing when in fact, they were not. A&E editors tried to cut out the name Jesus as spoken at the end of the meal prayer. When asked why, editors claimed it was because they didn't want to offend Muslims. After the time that he was suspended, A&E was airing Duck Dynasty marathons. lol. Awesome. This is great outrage....however, Phil is nothing in terms of his ability to influence a broad range of people and the way their children are raised. He preaches to folks who are already of a similar mindset. Get after Hollywood, my friend, and then all the advertisers who push highly sexualized images of underage girls on the American public and at far greater numbers. Can a family with young children sit down and watch the super bowl without seeing a commercial for ED or Hooters or any number of other images that portray women as nothing more than a receptacle of sperm? Just a few weeks ago the Victoria's Secret fashion show was a run-away winner in the ratings race. Yea....like sparkly wings, huge tits, and sexy lingerie are a super duper image for young women to aspire to.

I just pull up their website and get the info I was looking for. (like what did someone really say when they are being bashed for what they said) Savage is way out there. He is very conspiracy oriented. i don't know how he can sleep at night.
