Was the clock running? Is 13 men on the field a legal football formation as stipulated by the NCAA? Is it ok to have 6 Basketball on the floor, before the ball in inbounded?
I was at that game. Pretty sure the clock was running. The game ended and the Tennessee team was heading to the locker room. They had to be called back to run the last play again. T bob had fortunately snapped the ball before Jefferson called for it. He bobbled that snap.
YES, THE CLOCK WAS RUNNING!!! The defense can have 50 guys on the field before the play if it wants, as long as 39 of them are on the sidelines before the ball is snapped. (additional: "football formation" is a term for offense. There is no such thing as a legal or illegal defensive formation) And we're talking about football, not basketball. But since you asked (nice try at deflecting), a competent basketball official won't hand the ball to the offense to be inbounded if the other team has 6 on the floor.
. 50 players huh? Why are there "Sideline Warnings" during games? As for the rules, it is on ncaa.org Football.
First time I've watched that in a long time. I'm drawing a new conclusion. LSU's motion so confused UT that they lost track of what they were doing and sent two extra men on the field. I think that play was the birth of the Matt Canada mode of offense.
A good day if you enjoy that sort of undisciplined chaos from your sideline. To those of us that realize it's not that hard it was agonizing. So glad he is gone.
