    Re: Joshua Downs

I'm starting to become a believer. At first I was concerned about this kid because the picture Scout had of him without a shirt on was not encouraging. I never questioned his tenacity, just if he was physically able to progress to the next level because of how soft he looked. Perhaps he has firmed up and can add some lean muscle. Anyone have any recent pics to show if he has made any weight room transformations.

Warren Sapp is arguably one of if not the best DT of all time. He was a fat ass.

True, and a good comparison. I considered Downs overweight and undersized for a DT, but he is very quick according to all the reports. Unusual, but Sapp-like.

Downs (along with DE Dyron Dye) will be playing for the Black team D, trying to stop the White team offense led by QB Matt Barkley, RB Trent Richardson and a big O-Line including:

I saw where Downs pulled his groin, is he still playing?

    Re: Joshua Downs

My game ball out of the LSU recruits goes to Downs tonight. He was every where and no one could contain him. His motor really impressed me and he never gave up on a play.

Not bad for a 3* recruit going up against monster OLman.

HE should receive a 4th star IMO because he has not only impressed in the game but all week in practice. He had a complete week.

He looked great out there, clearly one of the most underated players.

I had him pegged at center but now I'm not so sure. I'd like to see him get a shot at DT first..he looked really good out there.
