Are you kidding? Increasing troop strength in Afghanistan. Dude couldn't pull the trigger for months.

Bullchit. Dude postponed making a decision for a month to prudently make sure all angles were covered. No troop proposal from anybody involved troops arriving in Iraq in less than six months. Deployments are on schedule and no unit was delayed.

Drones. I wonder how many GI's had their lives spared for this operation (many others no doubt), with this technology? I like it and I hope we litter the skies with more of it.

Wait until you see what's coming. Predator drones were designed to be recconnaisance aircraft for use against low-sophistication enemies with no airpower or missile assets. We tinkered with it to make it a strike aircraft due to need in Afghanistan. It ain't particularly fast or stealthy with its propellor and Maverick missiles hanging under its wings. It's also subject to having its transmissions intercepted, giving warning to the enemy.

It's successor, The Avenger, is coming and it's jet-powered, extremely stealthy, carries weapons internally, has a very advanced targeting system, secure data-links and is capable of hitting targets against more sophisticated enemies. Pakistan couldn't stop it if they wanted to.

And a naval version that can operate from carriers is planned. Even better they will replace the Maverick missile with a Spike missile that's the size of a loaf of french bread and more accurate. The Avenger will be able to carry a bunch of them.
