I guess being a coach for the Lions is embarassing enough. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6287704
Hopefully Goodell comes to his senses and reevaluates T.O.'s spitting incident and suspends him for the Eagles game. Eric Allen, one of the classiest players the NFL has ever seen and 6 time pro-bowler (and future first ballot hall of famer) said that if a player had spit in his face he would have taken off his helmet and started swinging it at the player. That's how egregious an offense spitting is to him.
I think there are 2 reasons they didn't suspend him. 1)his salary is pretty high, so the financial hit would be significantly more than $35000. 2)there isn't any actually evidence that he did it (yet). I think they did that assuming he would turn around and try and downplay it(which he has). Sad thing is, he filed an appeal and I have a feeling he may win it.
He admitted to doing it. That's evidence enough. They oughta ban his ass for life, as he is a complete embarrasment to the league.
I never have said this about a player, but T.O. truly deserves to endure a career ending injury....the sooner the better.
No fine the league could impose is gonna adjust this moron's ways. He's a thug, he's stupid, and sadly, he'll be living under a bridge somewhere within 10 years, if not sooner. On the other hand, I think a good ole country a$$-whipping, late at night involving lumber, might make him a nicer guy.:hihi:
