Take it easy...I'm not bashing Bowe...but you pretty much just made my point. He was thrown to twice, because the second one hit him in the chest and he dropped it...at about the 3 yard line. That's why I put the parenthesis around (by them)...we KNOW he can do it...he has to PROVE it to them. Trust me, I'm a huge Bowe fan...but he will not be "counted on" by KC until he PROVES he can be counted on by them. Read the context of the discussion, please.:thumb:

No int's, too. There's no better adjective to describe him so far than "sharp".:thumb:

I was actually counting them each 1/2. Rookie WRs take time and Kennison's just OK.

I guess my main point was that they have no choice but to count on Bowe. I didn't take it as you bashing him at all. He was 4 yards behind their leading receiver last night. He's not going to catch every pass, hell TO drops more than his share and people consider him one of the best. They NEED Bowe. It doesn't matter what he shows them.

Especially if they don't have a reliable QB to get them them ball.

Drew Brees is a straight up gangsta.:thumb: Watch him light it up this year. I'm already hearing whispers of the Saints offense potentially being one of the best ever.

Speaking of, here's a good article:

Well, I guess that's my point. Of course he isn't going to catch every pass...but in order to prosper in this league, you have to prove something first. He's a rookie...and has yet to prove anything. I believe he will at some point, and will be better than Kennison.

He was 4 yds behind their leading receiver? Sorry, but that ain't saying much in that game. He had one catch, and one BIG drop, which would have MADE him their leading receiver last night...and also would have likely led to a score. That was his opportunity to prove himself, and he dropped the ball...pun intended.

To say "they NEED Bowe...it doesn't matter what he shows them" is wrong. They don't need him any more than the Saints need Meachem...and the Saints don't need Meachum. The reason they "need" him is because they are short at the position...but he still has to prove he can catch the ball, in traffic especially. The only reason he will make the team (Meachum) is because teams hate admitting a mistake with their first round selection. (For the record, I think Bowe stands a better chance at making it in the NFL than Meachum, mainly because he is with KC, who has far less talent at his position, and because I KNOW what Bowe can do)

TO had to prove something...and he did...ironically, against Dallas when he was with SF a few years back. That was his breakout game. Before that, he was just a "potentially" great player.

Isn't that what I said to begin with?

KC needs Bowe way more than the Saints meed Meachum. The Saints are proving to be loaded at WR. I guess KC needs someone to throw the ball to them more than anything.

To claim that dropping one pass will make the difference for Bowe is a stretch. So if he catches that ball he automatically makes the team in your mind? I think KC knows they need another big blocking WR and Bowe is their guy.

I guess we should stop hijacking the awesome Brees thread. I think we can all agree that he has been on fire this pre-season. I'm confident he will be just as good this regular season, and that's pretty scary.

EXCELLENT point on the blocking...they will need him for that, no doubt.

And on the hijacking the thread...I started the awesome Brees thread...and I give us permission to hijack it if we so choose...but only me and you!:thumb:

And no, I don't think he automatically makes the team with a catch there...he makes the team for the same reason Meachum makes the Saints...1st rounder. I just wish he would have caught the ball to prove he was WORTHY of his selection...I think he is, by the way...just wish he could've proven it when given the chance last night.
