It looks like the Saints still have a chance at getting him. Denver is now in talks with the Saints and Redskins for a possible trade. Denver wants Ladell Betts from the Skins, and the Saints are offering draft pick(s)! I seriously doubt the Skins will give up Betts, so the Saints might have a shot. Adam Sheffler on NFL Network reported this today.
Hadden heard that one. I know Shawn Spring with Washington was lobbying to get him and Dan Snyder publicly said he would give him a new contract. I don't know if the saints would rework his contract. Denver may be using us a threat. On the other hand, I would be very excited if we got him considering we just patched up the LB corp.
The 'Skins desperately need picks, as they've gotten rid of their second, third, and fourth round selections. This story could have legs. I'm not sure why Bly is bent about playing opposite of Champ Bailey, but to each his own.
I think the word is the Saints offered a 4th round draft pick for Bly. It was our opening salvo and was quickly extinguished by the Broncos. Watch for the Skins to overpay in draft pick(s).
I doubted we would get Bly from Denver from the start. Think about it from the Broncos point of view. Would you trade Tatum Bell for a 4th round draft pick? There's no way!
