Scout has Davis visiting Bama today. They also list him as a soft verbal to LSU, with a low interest in Bama. I say take away his scholarship. You cant have a rule and not enforce it. I hate commitments because of the times when kids do de-commit, it throws all your plans off. Besides that if he wants to listen to the devil let him lay his head there. I cant believe he would talk all that crap about $aban and then actually go for a visit the following day. Take away his scholarship and now we can maybe sign a Jason Peters, Christian Scott, Cameron Heyward, Damien Berry, or whoever else. Same can be said with McCoy. Although with how untrustworthy kids are, I dont think Id make that rule.

I agree 100% but in the world we live in people don't even honor commitments made before God when they marry, they lie under oath in murder cases, etc. so what does a "Commitment" mean from an 18 yr. old to a Univesity. I know what it should mean but I'm sure you see what I'm getting at. :thumb:

If that's the case, and he is visiting 'Bama, then he's pulling a trick out of the Nick Saban hat: outright lying.

Whether Luther Davis eventually signs with LSU, if he did in fact go to 'Bama on a visit--especially after saying no in an interview--and bash/make fun of Nick Saban's arrogance, then Luther Davis is no better off than that rat-faced head coach at 'Bama.

I agree, commitments don't mean anything anymore!
This is the world we live in!

Seventeen and Eighteen year old kids sway with the wind.
They make their minds up one day and change it the next!

Miles prefers that an athlete who has committed to LSU not take any other visits, but I don't think there is much he can do about it if they do. He certainly won't pull a scholarship. That kind of heavy-handedness will not make him popular with other recruits.

Exactly. But it doe smean that Miles may all of a sudden off a guy like Jason Peters an unconditional offer and if he accepts Davis may be wearing Crimson next year.

Davis has a hard time telling grownups no. He has a hard time not telling people what they want to hear, he has a maturity issue, which many 18 yr olds have. Hopefully he matures at a rapid rate when he doesn't have coaches tugging on his shirt after the recruiting is all said and done.

It is unclear whether this is a preference or an actual policy. I imagine it is expressed as a policy, and as such he would not look bad to tell them they should continue looking around if they take another trip.

McCoy may be shown some leniancy since he has not yet met our new OLine coach. It looks like Davis didn't even go to Bama...

So, does anyone know as a fact whether Davis did go to Bama for the visit, or is it all heresy? Some LSU fans did check up the obituaries, and found the funeral for a "Davis" which may be the one Davis claimed to be attending. This is really getting too wild.

Addendum: oops CParso, didn't see your post while typing...
