I went to the Panthers/Chiefs game in Charlotte this afternoon. I went so I could see Dorsey, Bowe and Niswanger play. Dorsey had a pretty decent game. He does draw alot of double teams. The guy that was with me commented on his motor, something a Tiger fan is familiar with. It certainly was disheartening to see him get all jacked up about playing and the rest of his line content to be a horrible football team. You could see he was trying to get these guys motivated to play, but they weren't having it. It really upset me. He deserves better.
I think Dorsey is in a pretty good situation. Herm is a good coach and he can play right away. The Chiefs can only get better, are extremely young, and are rebuilding. Hopefully by the time Dorsey is becoming a great player the Chiefs will be playoff contenders.
As an LSU dual degreed alumni and diehard fan living in Topeka, Kansas. Dorsey is much respected here for his desire and ability. Chiefs lack true pass rusher having traded one of the league's best to Minnesota for a can of lutke fish and 3 mints. The GM -- Carl Peterson -- needs to have been fired three years ago and this may be the year (even though the Chiefs had a great draft). If he goes Herb will not be around long. Best of all possible worlds: Peterson gets replaced by a GM, currently available, who happens to be a close friend of Bill Cowher's. Chiefs get Cowher, draft QBs with their !st, 5th and 7th picks next year. Instant rise in intensity perfect for Dorsey. Bowe gets taken down a notch from the attitude he is developing and in four years, with a young talent base and a good QB, there will be some hope.
I think he is pretty good. Most NFL coaches are pretty similar except for a few -- and if he could have a team that is directed by someone not named Chad or Brodie he would probably have a far better record.
I gotta agree with Tirk. The guy is below average. A good coach is able to get his needs across to whoever is making the draft decisions. Trent Greens Prime is 4 years past the chiefs. How they did not draft a qb is beyond me. Make a trade, do something. They will never have a winning record, no matter how much talent is around them. Huard was horribly missing short slant routes, and the passes Bowe was able to reign in were caught in large part to his athleticism. If you are on a team with a qb the team knows can't win.... And Larry Johnson went down on contact every run yesterday. It didn't even look like he was running hard. The backup # 25 was running extremely hard and was far more successful than Johnson. That 200 yarder last week was Johnson's last. you can take that to the bank. He's done.
I dont think it is attitude as much as frustration. He took some unnecessary shots because of ball placement. On out routes he was getting hit like he was going over the middle.
"Hard Knocks" profiled KC last year, and he just didn't seem like he was very tough. He made Wade Phillips look harder, in fact.
he is a headcase. been this way since the priest holmes days. he just doesnt give a shiite and pouts on the sidelines when hes disinterested. its pretty pathetic.
