Seeing LSU at 6-0 is a hoot, no question about that. And one can't complain about being bored, if you're watching LSU play football. Compare Les Miles's people to watching that Giants/Bears thing last week, and I'll take Les Miles every time.

But jump on the bandwagon? Please. The man is driving me nuts. That thing at the end against Tennessee was the worst thing I've ever seen on a football field, at that level. But it's not really the clock managing that gets me crazy. It's the constant, nonsensical mistakes that the Tigers make, at the worst moments, that make watching them so excruciating, at times. And it's becoming predictable.

When Carolina had their hands on a TD pass twice in the last 30 seconds that would have won the game, after being down 30-10 in the fourth quarter, you had to wonder what you were watching.
When LSU was up 17-0 on W. Va. with 5 minutes left in the 1st. half, I looked at my wife and told her that this is precisely the spot where LSU will screw the pooch and make an easy game into one that is decided in the last 2 minutes. And that's just what they did. LSU should have been up at least 24-7 on the Gators, but dumb turnovers and poor decisions kept Florida around. It's relentless and disturbing. And yet, somehow they won all those games. How much luck does Coach possess?

I really like Les Miles. He is a great motivator, and very well spoken. The "hat" thing tickles me. His players will evidently run through a wall for him. But are they ever going to put it together and play smartly? Isn't the coaching responsible for the lack of discipline you see on the field? And forgive me for saying this, but it's how I see things: would a Nick Saban coached team ever have found itself in the position that the Tigers were in against Tenn. Carolina or WVU, with the same players? Got my doubts about that one.

I hope that Miles gets it together and coaches in Baton Rouge for the next 20 years. And I hope he gives me one break this season, and beats Auburn 50-3, next week. I'm not sure how much more I can take, waiting for the weekly train wreck.

How about a boring game one time, Coach?

man you had me until the bold. we gotta get over this man. does it matter if a nick saban team would have done it this way or that? Les Miles is our coach, not nick saban.

I guess I was mistaken when I thought this forum was for die hard LSU fans to voice their opinions and concerns about the program they support. I can see how just being a general/casual fan who doesnt take much stock in anything but the win/loss record would make this season seem like one for the ages. That is EXACTLY what this forum is for and why you don't see posts and threads deleted at the whim of a reckless MOD anymore. That problem was addressed and we are the better for it.

We're not here to sing cumbaya, at least this forum better never get that way.

THAT WAS PHUCKING horrible clock management, in the 1st and 2nd half. He is about is lucky as they come, but eventually playing like that loses games. Terrible coaching kept a Florida team that was clearly way over matched in the game.

No one is forcing you to send Miles a Valentines card.
Likewise, no one is nominating him for a Nobel Prize in clock management.

It’s simple. There’s just a few of us here that think Miles deserves a little credit - especially after being bashed into oblivion for the past week by you and all the other drama queens.

Since this show of support really bothers you so much, just ignore it.
Eventually, LSU will lose or Les will screw up again and you’ll be right back on top.

Hang in there.

I've never been a Miles Hater. I've always thought he was a pretty good coach, who has had trouble lining up his talent in the right config so to produce points. I think he's figured it out now.

I'm on board with the PosiTigas! We have a good team, and things are comming together, and the Coach is part of that process .. I don't care what you think about him based on the last two years.

Also ... I don't see how you can call a call that won the game a "dumb call". Usually such calls are called brilliant. They only become dumb when the backfire and cause you to lose.

Les deserves all the praise for the win, and almost none of the blame for the closeness of same.

Les and his staff have somehow fixed the QB position that was our only weakness to date. Kudos to them...they really did know what they were doing. We now have two QB's capable of moving the chains .

The players made mistakes that made the game closer. PP muffed a punt and JJ threw an INT that wasn't entirely his fault. Watching the replay I saw Jefferson get hit just as he released.

The only bad call by the staff that stood out was the botched two point conversion.

Great win! And I forsee a great season by the Tigers! Best defense, best special teams, and a rapidly improving offense means the future is so bright, we Tiger fans gotta wear shades!

It's entertainment. I enjoy watching the games and all that goes with it. I do not get into the critique and analysis each and every play because I'm not a frustrated jock or wannabe coach. I do not try to amaze my friends with technical knowlege and I certainly don't act like Les Miles stole my wife every time he calls a play that doesn't work. I do understand that some plays are called to set up other plays and not every one is designed to score 6 points. I have learned that the game is 60 minutes and I don't need a diaper change for something that happens at the 4 minute mark. My criteria for success is based on Ws and Ls. So far, I can't find anything to complain about. Of course I am a simple fan and not an expert like some people who learned their football under a guy who taught industrial arts for 3/4 of the day.

Thank God there are others out there who feel like I do. I am no longer living in LA so I don't hear the talk shows and I'm not around as many fans. I keep reading online that LSU fans are angry with Les Miles and it blows my mind. When did schools and fans become so fickle? We can't go to the National Championship every year. It scares me that Les and his family may become sick of the fans and how unappreciated he is that they just might pack up and leave. I sure hope not because Les makes Saturdays nail biting, exciting, and better then any action packed movie I've ever seen.

Here is what I wrote on one of those articles I mentioned earler...and I post here now for your enjoyment or your proverbial buttkicking...either way...read on.

I am a lifelong Tiger fan and I LOVE...that's right L O V E Les Miles. I currently live in AR and I'm not down there to hear the fans complain, but if it's true then I have one thing to say to them...SHUT THE HELL UP! I am so sick of fickle fans and fickle firing. We can't make it to the National Championship every year. Les's record speaks for its self. For the first time in my life I have two coaches, (Les Miles and Sean Payton) who coach like I have always dreamed...WITH GUTS! Yes Miles has made some clock mistakes...but mistakes are going to happen. No one is perfect. But some how...year after year...he pulls it out. Let's not forget the man was so loyal he gave up his dream job to stay with us!!! I for one appreciate him and to all the upcoming teams we are about to play...FEAR THE HAT!

I appreciate your point. Here's how I feel about Saban. Unlike a lot of folks here, I don't think he's the devil. I don't like the way he does business, but LSU has 2 crystal trophies, largely because of what he built. I'm thankful for that, regardless of where he coaches today.

I was just trying to make the point that Miles's teams make way too many dumb plays, mental mistakes that other, more thorough coaches' teams don't seem to make on a consistent basis. But I'm not wishing that Saban was still in Baton Rouge, that's history and he won't be back. Les Miles is a MUCH more likable man.

I just want Miles to get his team's act together, and take advantage of the great talent he continues to recruit.

Tend to agree. Certainly, the QB play was vastly better than it's been. And watching the looks on the faces of the Gator fans after that last score was as much fun as you could ask for. But it should never have been that close.

I know, I know, just be thankful for another SEC win, right? At the Swamp no less!
