Trump with 987 pledged (bound) delegates. Give him the additional 54 Pennsylvania unbound delegates (he will get them on the first ballot), that gives him: 1041 502 delegates remaining and he only needs 196 (39 %). Conservatively give him 100 of the 172 in Cali (probably will be closer to 110) and all 51 in NJ, that gives Trump: 1192, needing only 45 of the other 279 remaining delegates (16 %). The 5 states where he will get at least some of the delegates are Indiana, NM, WV, Washington and Oregon. That's 187 delegates that he needs to only win roughly 1/4 of them. It's over.
Re-doing the numbers, Trump has actually won 55 of the 71 delegates from Pennsylvania, with 8 more being undeclared until the convention. So Trump has 994 as it stands now. He needs 243 of the 502 remaining (48.4 %). He should pick up between 150-160 just between California and NJ. So he'll need roughly 90 of the 273 delegates from all the other states combined (about 33 %). If he gets shut out of Montana, SD and Nebraska, he'd need 90 of 181, or about 50 percent. Indiana may very well decide if this is going to an contested convention or not.
For something I was glued to and consumed by a couple months ago, I find it difficult to even give a shit now.
Same here. Once again, not much choice for President on either side. Of all, I like what Trump says, the most; however, I'm not sure where his final position on things will be. I figured after Osama, it could not be worse. Not sure now if Hillary may be. Sanders' socialistic views scare the hell out of me, though he's a personable ol chap. The way he wants to share everything I imagine he and his wife are swingers- or once were, when he could still get it to swing.
You aren't alone. It looks like it's going to boil down to dumb & dumber. I think I'm going to write-in lsutiga.
I wish it were only dumb or dumber. I'm afraid we'll have to chose between an evil bitch and a megalomaniac reality TV star.
