Between the Lakers and Kings in both the 02 and 05 seasons, to force both series to go 7 games. They both did.
He has thrown out new allegations every week for the past year. Every week it becomes more and more obvious he is taking the pressure off of himself.
that Lakers/Kings series in '02 was the WORST officiated series i have ever seen. the most home court bias imanginable for both teams. which is really sad, because both were amazing teams that year. I would have LOVED to see them play that one out with the refs getting in the way.
I remember that series as well and I agree. Sure I think the guy is trying to take pressure off of himself but I would not be surprised if many of his statements were true. Not sure if he has been sentenced yet but I assume he is spitting out names and specific situations all over the place to reduce his sentence. Not even taking what he says into consideration I feel that it is not single plays here and there that are the problem. If they called everything the games would be unwatchable. The problem is with the philosophy they use and it is unbalanced IMO. Make up calls and no calls are not balanced, etc. Sure you can find skews in officiating in every game but over the coarse of the season or playoffs, the calls are not balanced. These statements by the former ref are going to get the attention of everyone and now have an even bigger problem with the league under a microscope. Going to be a tough road for the NBA and I hope to see some stern changes so the game does not suffer in the long-run.
This has been going on even up until last year, before this ref came out. It happened in more series than that series. They discuss this in NBA meeting about ratings and who will bring what ratings.
I can't remember. It should have been on Kobe for the initial elbow to the nose before the takedown by Bibby.
