True, losing a starting QB is a blow felt for years if you're not prepared for it. We were not, as we had JJ and Lee (both redshirt freshmen at the time...i think?). Losing a starting FB shouldn't hurt us too bad, as we run multiple sets. Don't know much about Stampley, but we should be able to adjust. Plus, Worle will be up and coming.
i don't get it either. but, like it's been said, it's not like he didn't have chances to better himself and the situation.
This is tough. Allen was primed to be a luxury at the fullback position. Stampley's gonna have to show me a bit more than I saw last year to soften this blow. He didn't seem to make any impact blocks. Oh well, it's only a fullback. If Stampley can give us decent blocking we won't miss him. Allen would have been more of a complimentary piece than a huge part of our offense.
That's too bad, but I can't feel sorry for him. Being on a football team, especially a well known one like ours, carries so many incentives and so many benefits that just about anyone can shape up and follow the rules. If he can't despite that, he really doesn't need to be here.
