With all the rain rolling in, I worry that a wet rainy field will "level the playing field" Saturday will actually help App State....
I gotta believe it hurts them more since they run a true spread offense. We can simply run the ball up the middle all game long and be fine with that.
Now if we could get some snow ..... that would make a difference in App's favor. We've definitely beat got LSU on cold weather practices. Otherwise, weather advantage goes to LSU.
It's my opinion that a wet field always hurts the better team because it has a tendency to equalize the two teams.
I agree to that in general. Particularly against teams that are clost to the same caliber. But in this case, Appy State needs Edwards to be able to go crazy to stay close. On the other hand, LSU will be able to cram the ball down Appy State's gullet all day long on a wet field.
I was quite impressed with the way the field drained last year. Unless it rains heavy on Friday or Saturday morning, I don't think the field will be affected.
im hoping it doesnt rain at all on friday or saturday. especially saturday! but you are right about drainage. it will likely take a heavy and/or sustained rain to effect the field.
They put in one hell of a drainage system. The field look great during the south carolina game and it starting puring for kickoff
It never rains in Tiger Stadium! :hihi: Only six more months until baseball season starts. (Start a thread...)
