guys as much as i would like to think LSU is clean i know we are not perfect.

For the person that thinks it doesnt happen at even the smaller schools i can tell you it does.

Some of our starting fb players were caught stealing golf balls out of the ponds at night at a local golf course and selling them. Police caught them and our head coach made it go away with minimal punishment.

just one of our things i could go on. Worked in the athletic program when i was in college.

This was a long time ago too. I am sure it is just as bad or worse now. I wouldnt say the NCAA has exactly made it a priority.

I dont like the fact that schools have to resort to this but the truth is alot of the kids these days play the system and they dont go for an education.

By turning the other cheek the NCAA has opened the gate wide open and schools are taking this to levels never seen before.

The NCAA will pick some schools to make examples of and i hope LSU doesnt become one of them.

Thanks to Auburn becoming arrogant with it like USC it may take the SEC with them.

But If i was A & M and i wanted in the SEC i would make sure that that former coach got a call and didnt break the recruiting golden rule.

When you start ratting on others your skeletons come out. Or it becomes a free for all on reporting others.

I am with Tirk on this and unfortunatly i am concerned with where all of this is headed. In my opinion it isnt if you cheat but what level .

And dont get me started on the freaking bowls.

Its like steroids and the selective enforcement to a few players when you know steroids are rampant and 90 per cent of the players are taking them.

You couldnt feild a team at college and pro level if you actually suspended all the roids guys.

And dont look now but their are high school guys taking them.

that is the world we live in.

jesus christ, I've never seen such a whiney little b**** on a forum. These are RUMORS. not fact. You're going all in on a hand you dont have all the information on. you're stereotyping big d-1 programs because of what? do you hold a grudge or something. and you say you personally know players who got benefits. Give names and how much I want to know every single thing that you do. bring it to the ncaa. call them and say you have proof that LSU has been giving out vehicles and cash forever.

I would honestly be shocked to find out that any SEC program bar vandy doesn't pay their top players at least a little bit. I wouldn't be surprised if Vandy pays players too tbqh

See post #69 above. All that plus these three fictional but realistic quotes that we should have heard if pay for play was that wide spread
    • He got XXX and I only got XX, and i carried this team. I'm burning this place down. Hello SI
    • We got XX and my buddy on Team Q got XXX - and we won the national championship. I'm going on Facebook
    • My boyfriend bragged to me he was getting XXX and he left my for that slut - I'll show him. Hello ESPN
I'm not stupid enough to believe that it never happens - but its not wide spread.

That tends to not happen when you throw in the whole kicked off the team clause. It would take a special kind of idiot to complain about not getting paid as much as his teammate publicly.

True. But it would only take a common type of idiot to do it after his college time is over. And those types of idiots are very common.

I'm not sure I understand what you are proposing. And can you give an example of a school that does it now?

    every school that gives scholarships.

there are substantial gaps in academic qualifications of student non-athletes and student athletes.

and as lsu points out ---"Students not meeting the above requirements for automatic admission are still encouraged to apply. We can take other factors into account to predict your potential for success at LSU. "

i certainly don't know for a fact, but I'd be surprised if all the LSU scholarship athletes had a 3.0 gpa in core courses, 22 on ACT or graduated in the top 10% in their HS class.

let the dummies that dont care about education go play fball in the cfl.
