Is this Drama really needed or wanted in sports? Do you want to read about which SEC QBs or DBs have the better looking Model/Gold Digger/Reality TV girlfriends? Or do you feel these Dramas in some way "Enhance" the College Football gameday experience in some way? Love looking at beautiful women, but there are literally millions of sites for that. ESPN & other media are driving full-throttle in this direction. Eventually, we'll have many, many more college players on TV with their Reality TV girlfriends. Is this a good thing for College sports? Would like to hear some opinions. Splash
I never understood all the outrage directed at Musberger. I knew when he made his comments that he just made this chick's career.
Sometimes this stuff does get out of control. I've never watched "Splash", but I know my wife would have something to say about all the bikini model-type girls for the male viewers, while the females are getting Ndomukun Suh, Louie Anderson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. As for whether its good for college sports, to me, the question assumes appearances on reality shows like Webb's are going to become commonplace. I just don't think there are that many shows out there, or that many women of Webb's calibre who also happen to be the girlfriend of a high-profile player on a high-profile team. To me, a bigger concern for the image of college athletics comes from the profile video. Namely, if I were an official for LSU Athletics, I don't know if I would want a girl posing in SI in an LSU jersey and string bikini bottom, as Webb did for 'Bama (didn't she graduate from Auburn? wonder how they feel about it).
Does UAB's QB have a GF? She should at least pull her bikini bottom to the side and let him have a peek. He's told old for anything more. Tap, in your title you said Social Media. Did you mean reality t.v. with college sports?
