At least we knew Barry was doing whatever it took to win. Gotta pay someone pay em, gotta turn a blind eye to cocaine use? Fuggit.
My question is . Does LSU have another quarterback with strong legs an fast feet ??? We were told our starter had improved , but what we saw was the same as last year . One or two good passes then wow what was that , without a passing game there will be no running game . Without understanding Passing skills cannot be coached . We saw another sub par QB game . You do not have to like what I type , but look over @ Saban and his two freshman QB's I have learned to take the other team and the points , unless of course it is Bama then I take Bama to win . Less $$$$ but a sure winner I say a TRYOUT FOR AN NEW QB one who can manage the game and just win . Strong legs and just fast feet can't get the job done .
@tirk was right when he said just line up wildcat. That's the only way we win against anyone worth a fuck. Just let Fournette run out of wildcat every play and bring in the heavy package.
Tom Herman's running quarterback threw for 321 and 2 TD against OU. Ours can't even complete 3 consecutive passes.
The overall offensive scheme is flawed. Both Miles and Cameron have no idea how to utilize the talent on offense. I watched Texas use there big QB in the wildcat with great success. We certainly have someone on our team such as Fournette or Guice that could run that. Where was the read option, the option, the 4 to 5 reliever sets and do we even need a tight end in this offense? Where is the QB Draw? Where was Fournette and Guice in the backfield together as Promised? Cameron was a bad hire period. He is either too meek to force Miles to open up or just a bad college OC. Miles hired him and keeps him enough said Miles needs to go and go soon.
A new thread was just started about Marcus Spears calling for Les to be fired. The more I think about it the more I'm convinced early is better. I guess it can't happen now but if we look bad next week and lose to Moo State or the Barn he should be given the boot. Have coach O named interim. That way we get the fallout settled and if there is a God we can put together a professional search team. We get to actually set goals, evaluate and pick a real winner rather than throwing money at someone in a panic. Even for Les I think it's better to cut out the infection now rather than it get gangrenous and having a death by a thousand cuts.
I have flipping between what is better, knowing we don't have a chance against anyone who has legit lines, or going 8-0 into the meat of the schedule only to be disappointed again. I have settled on its better to know now. That way I can plan the rest of my fall without first worrying about the tigers...
I think the question is who do you retain at the end of the season if you do fire Miles now? Obviously if Miles were fired today O would probably be the interim coach. But when the season ends do you lose him because he feels he earned the job? Who else do you lose? At this point, fuck it. If it means getting rid of Les, everyone can go. Just get Herman and let him build a staff.
Unfortunately Herman is a pipe dream. He's got a great thing going at Houston, and will wait for big money at UT or another TX school. I doubt LSU would offer him enough to come in, let alone even approach him.
I think we lose 4 or 5 games this year. Defense hangs tough all year but the offense and the ability to do anything but I-formation will hurt us.
