Exactly, if you gonna fire him fire him right then and there. The problem about putting all your bet on one coach is that after they couldn't sign Jimbo and Miles gets all the love in his farewell game is now you undermine him and ultimately LSU in the future. It will be telling how well LSU closes out this year.
Of course the players supported their coach, it's extremely rare when they don't. He's the guy they've gone to war with these past few years and he's a really good guy. That doesn't mean he deserved to keep his job. Even though they supported him and knew his job was in jeopardy the offense played uninspired and sloppy. In fact it looked like Harris was doing everything he possibly could to make sure Les got fired. We can go ahead and end all the posts and discussion of Alleva and the others handling things horribly. The entire universe is in agreement there, no reason to continue beating that dead horse. Unless we're discussing whether he should be fired or not end of discussion. Are you confident Miles will change? Change offensive philosophy? Allow a coach that runs an offense from this century to become OC and control the offense? Recruit QBs that either fit his system or adjust the system to match his QBs skill set? If the answer to any of those is no, we'll be right back where we are now at this time next year.
I just can't find anything to hang my hat on, it seems like we've exhausted all possibilities. LSU is struggling academically, so let's torpedo athletics. It seemed like athletics was a key cog in helping to make LSU a damn strong academic institution, but I guess the admin don't see it that way. Snooty bastids.
I was really amazed watching how classy he handled the whole dam thing. What tugged on my heart was seeing a sincere hurt and a "want" to be here. No, I'm serious about the "want" I saw in his face. Looked clear to me that he loves this place. Who goes back and apologizes to those they've teased and gotten their hopes up?
What AD goes out and tries to make a move without the blessing of the man in charge. @bhelmLSU can you explain to everyone about Alexander nixed the nutrition center too because of money? This was something I just heard about. Apparently the money is there, but Alexander won't allow it because of all these budget cuts, and the financial state of things. Alleva knew this but still went out and tried to get Jimbo. Why wasn't there a meeting with Alexander first? Someone should lose their job.
Brandon Harris presented Les with the game ball after the A&M game, unfortunately he overthrew him though.
Couldn't have said it better. Say what you want about Miles as a coach but the man truly loves LSU, Louisiana, and his players. It was clearly visible. The class he showed despite being slapped in the face is something we can all learn from. I hope he turns things around. I want him to shove to Alleva.
I think he deserves an apology at least from everyone who said he was gone when he wasn't. Herbstreit apologized in 2007. Glenn Gilbeau apologized in the last couple of days, but a lot of people need to and haven't. I don't know what went on behind the scenes to comment about what people in the administration need to do, but certainly whoever was putting out a story that Miles was leaving to the media should apologize. I doubt they would because they're probably a huge coward and they hope no one finds out.
He should have been kicked up the ass instead. Now we are stuck with this mediocre shiit for a few more years.
