That's why I don't have a problem with Alleva saying he'd comment at the end of the season and then waiting until the end of the season. It's a way to make clear that it's time for Les to earn his money. Just like flirting with Arkansas was a way to pressure the administration for an improved and extended contract. It would have been disrespectful had he known it was over and not let Les in on it, but obviously keeping Les was still an option.
I agree, he should have been showed the boot, but that is NOT his fault. That is all on Alleva and his piss poor planning. Miles deserved to be fired, not humiliated. Big difference.
I agree with that. The man is a professional. Nick Saban (for instance) loses his cool when someone asks who's going to play middle linebacker, but Miles handled everything without cracking at all.
The fucking poindexter doesn't see the value in exposure from athletic prowess so how bright can F-King be? Not to mention what athletic success symbolizes to the State of Louisiana; that when applied, despite finishing last in all things, we can still achieve greatness. Fuck that dude.
The type of person that F King probably goes to cocktail parties with seems to think athletic programs are uniformly a drain on resources that should go to other areas, but they forget that a program like this one is actually a positive in being able to pay money to other areas.
I'm confident that the severity of the situation has been made clear to Les at this point. I don't know that we will find a good OC and create good QB play on the field. If we don't and lose three games again next year, I will wish Les the best, but it will be time to find someone new.
It may have been clearly explained, but what happened when it got translated inside his head? I envision a bunch of insane abstractions that would be maddeningly terrifying to the common man.
It is posturing and at the same time a way to prepare in case the state does go through with huge budget cuts in education. If we were to file for bankruptcy it would relieve LSU of certain state regulations about making their own cuts to programs, faculty, etc...It isn't just LSU but all LA colleges and universites. Political posturing to gain legislative support to leave education out of the cuts. King should of kept with that posturing and informed everyone down the line much earlier that LSU would not support boosters from paying their money. The legislators could then say go ask your boosters to help with the cuts in education, etc...LSU sports helps fund education at a higher rate than most universities already so we are on solid grounds but a huge buyout would damage our stance.
