just feels like everyone is trying to hype up O mostly because alleva made him the coach. how long do you think aranda will hang around, after being snubbed like that? He'll be a hc or go nfl after this season, imo.
Shaw is a good coach but not a great one, He probably wouldn't want to leave the West Coast and I don't think he would be a good fit here. Didn't Trent Johnson do pretty well coaching hoops at Stanford? Larry Fedora. You should try stand up comedy. Richt is a classic underachiever. You really don't even know, You just want anybody but O.You are judging him solely on his Ole Miss record. Where would New England be if they hadn't given Belicheck a second opportunity. I am a lot more excited about the upcoming season than I was last year. Yes, I knew we had the talent to go a long way but I also knew Elmer Fudd would screw it up somehow. I just didn't expect him to be that bad that early in the season until he had gotten our hopes up again.
Recruiting isn't done yet. If Eaux has as much success as I expect, recruiting shouldn't be a problem. Richt had a ton of time to win at UGA and *always* faltered.
Lol. He ain't like that.....or he wasn't then. He is however, a good man IMO. He connects with players at their level. He yells and works their asses off but rewards hard work. He likes to have fun when it's appropriate. I get both sides of the argument. The same things Perple is saying are exactly what USC fans said about Sardrunkian and then Helton. They wanted a big name and wanted USC to pay for one. Helton in particular, was an unpopular choice because he wasn't a big name and didn't have much to stand on in the way of demonstrated success. He had ties to USC and the area, has a solid character, but fans wanted someone from the A list. On the other hand, why not start with a modest amount of hope? There's nothing to indicate that Oeaux will be a failure and lots of reasons to believe he'll have success. The pressure is on. Win the division, beat Saban (UF, too but....). The talent is there. Gametime decisions will be the indicator IMO.
Aranda was not snubbed. He was given a substantial raise that made him the highest paid DC in the country. At any rate I don't expect him to be in Tigertown all that long anyway. He will be a head coach somewhere sooner than later but I don't think his first head job will be at a Power 5 perennial contender. Probably coach at a mid-major for a couple of years first.
I don't think Aranda is quite ready to be head guy, and I think he's alright with that (as smart as he is he can learn a thing or two from Eaux). Many folks don't get that it takes more than Xs and Os, which is one reason I really like the O hire coupled with the X/Os of Aranda/Canada. I'm optimistic.
Nobody knows where these kids will end up on signing day. Carter committed and decommitted to UCLA and LSU 3 times in a week.
You can pick all if them apart, but the problem starts with O not being a winning coach. Fedora is 40-25 at NC, a basketball school, knows Offense & has experience. Not my 1st pick at all, just a name. Only Ole miss & alleva have hired Orgeron as a hc. why didn't anyone snatch up O during his 30 years of Dline coaching? alleva's record of hirings is well known.
