If this was the AD's shot to call they would have done it already given the amount of media coverage and money they could make. This has to be coming from Les, and I don't necessarily disagree with it. Why risk injuring key starters playing 1's on 1's before a single snap in September, for a "game" no one will remember a month from now? Again, I want to see some hard evidence that we're losing out on good recruits to rival schools purely because of the spring game before jumping on the bandwagon.

Im not sure how 1's vs 2's causes less injuries. 230 LB's falling on an ACL hurts whether the guy is a starter or not.

Almost all things that people say will help recruiting is overrated. When people say a game in Dallas will help tremendously with Dallas recruits -- it really doesnt do anything.

But spring games do make a difference. People go to Florida for Friday Night Lights because they have heard about it. People go to Alabama's spring game because it is the place to go for a spring game. When they go to these places as a freshman or a sophomore in goes a long way when they compare it to other schools. It then draws them back for more visits and most come with their parents. They get to meet with the coaches and take tours that most wait to do down the line, if they do at all. I have not read updates from players that visited Alabama and Nebraska yet, but I guarantee you most will say it was a big deal, it stood out, and they will definitely take an official there now.

LSU has been recruiting very well, so I doubt if our low-key spring game affects it much. Recruits come and visit anyway, but what we want recruits to really remember is the visit to Tiger Stadium during a real night game. Our rivals can't compete with that experience. Bama has had a tough decade with no titles at all and a lot of losses, so they want to pump up the faithful in the spring to demonstrate that enthusiasm is still high. I don't blame them.

But we have three SEC and two national titles to be proud of. We don't need to beat our chests in the spring so much. Besides, it's baseball season and LSU is #1.

Yeah, it bothers me. It should bother every Tiger fan that our AD isn't more pro-active about getting the kind of exposure UGA and UA got.
