Byrd will come back next year and be the next in a long line of great LSU receivers... He will be the "go-to-guy"...
RP to Byrd will be one of next year's great QB/WR combos. They already have some experience from this year and looks to me like RP likes going to Byrd as a go to target.
byrd will continue to be the big-play guy just not the possession guy. catches will be close to the same next year I presume. as well as tds.
No way Byrd goes pro this year. He is set to have at least 10 TDs next year, he wasn't even playing full-time until like the 5th game. He is set to have a big year next year and along with LaFell and Dickson will be our go-to guys.
I agree and disagree: I disagree that his numbers are just above average compared to that of a primary target. Your numbers are gonna be lower with the love spread over all the options. I agree that he must have another year with that damn fine football team givin he is, or could have the potential to be a primary target for the ball. His stock will rise with next years numbers. Staying healthy, he will adapt to a higher pro pick.
Hard to say who will end up being that possession receiver, as Doucet was for us this season. I think JMitchell could step up. That's my early pick. I think the other receivers are gonna be good for medium to deep routes.
LaFell had the role for a bit while Doucet was hurt. If he hadn't LaDropped the ball so many times early on (no pun intended), he would've done great. Now that he seems to have coordinated his hands again, I'm wondering if he's not that possession guy. Wouldn't it be great to see Byrd have a Dwayne Bowe kind of year next year?
Byrd would be a 5th round pick if he came out early. He could boost his stock up to 2nd or 3rd round with a solid showing next year. He will not turn pro. LSU will get plenty of national exposure next year & not a single one of our players have reached their highest attainable draft position.
Take it easy on Lafell; he played with an injured painful wrist at that time during the season. I am really glad he got over that. He's going to be a great one.
