The year isn't over yet but the draft was this week and so let's at least discuss it; Blake Dean was drafted in what the 10th round? I think he comes back and plays left field or first (if Sean goes pro to get back behind the plate), gains expereince in the field and proves he can be more than a DH and if he avoids a slump like this year and shows power throughout the year then I think he goes in one the first 5 rounds and gets more money but also hopefully gets a another shot at Omaha. Plus I really don't want to lose him! P.S. Can we get a little smilly guy with like a purple hat for CPM, I believe he has earned it
I think it has more to do with the money he is offered to leave right now. If he doesn't get offered what he is looking for, then I think there is a possibility if he can get a spot on the field next year and not just a DH that he could improve. But if CPM tells him he may still end up being the DH he might just go. Its a good problem for LSU but bad for Dean that while he has a great arm and is not a terrible fielder, he can't get on the field because of the better defenders we have out there.
he'd better! he doesn't have the numbers to be a MLB DH. plus his defense is suspect. i don't think he'll get much better offensively, but he could work on his defense some. that'll make him a more rounded player. also, concerning 1b, i think grant gets that position next season if he can adjust to college pitching this summer. this kid is SICK, i'm telling you. and not just because he's from MC. remember the grambling state game? probably not, but g dozar made two AWESOME snatches at first on errant throws that would have otherwise sailed into the dugout for runs. not knocking dean, but dozar is a lot more athletic. (anyone catch him cutting back flips after the SR win?)
