damnnnnnnnn son, hold on a second. i had NO anticipation of just how important Chad would be to the baseball team in 2009. i knew he'd be a boon, but he turned out to be a determinant factor in that championship -- much, much more than i predicted. the dude basically threw one 'pen late in the season after he was finished with spring football, convinced the coaches to let him throw in a game, and he was just CLUTCH in the CWS. maybe the team would have won without him, but he's intimidating on that mound, no doubt. but back to the point, the kid went from football practice to a national championship baseball team and made a spot for himself. no one could have predicted chad jones out of the bull pen. maybe if you would have told me that he'd hit a game-winning homer in the 'series i would have believed you, but not as a friggin' left hand specialist. :hihi: but i concur with martin: dude could have it easy in the majors with the heat and the control of that slider. dude is fortunate to be in that position choosing b/w fball and bball, and it couldn't have happened to a better person, really. class act guy who loves LSU.
i hope he does what he wants and forgets the money. but if that were the case i guess he wouldnt be playing fball. seems safest to assume that since he's put so much into fball that he's gonna give it a try. and this is the year to get drafted high. he's gone.
Last I checked they don't pay a lot bp sluggers:wave:. Kid does have a lot of potential whatever he chooses to do.
What does exploded mean? Certainly you are not intimating he has had a terrific year at free safety? The kid is clueless and has no instincts to play the position. You do realize it took until the Arkansas game for him to lay a vicious hit on a receiver trying to make a catch? And how many ole's has he done in the run defense? Too many to count and many of them embarrassing. He did have the one game saving play vs MSU and for that we can all be thankful because it very likely saved our season. Other than that, the kid has been absent from making any plays (save the interceptions against a Div II school UL-L) and has been maybe the weakest link in the defense (tight battle with strong safety). His future lies squarely with MLB. I think he will be a very effective left handed short reliever.
CJ has made it clear many times...he will be playing baseball professionally. I personally think this is his last year in football. I also dont think he will be pitching after he leaves LSU.
