Does anyone from the Big 10 deserve to be in the top 15 in 2009?

Preseason Polls are a joke. If they were not so biased by partial voters, the Big 10 would probably not even make the top 20. The only team from the Big 12 that deserves to be in the top 10 would be Oklahoma. Texas in my opinon would come in around #16.
It really does matter how the preseason polls are decided, so a team has a chance (just ask Auburn a couple of years ago).

 

Chokelahoma (and Texas) = Big 12.

And, yes, they deserve to be in the Top 15. These are good football teams. Overrated does not mean suck.

...like last season's preseason poll.... Georgia #1, Florida #5, LSU #7, and Auburn #10. They shoulda been number 1 through 4, right??

I say screw the Big Ten, the PAC 10, the ACC and 11 teams in the Big 12... we'll save Oklahoma because it shows the world we can be fair... let's just do the rankings from Slidell, LA, and be done with it!!!

On the other hand, if there was a playoff involving only conference champions at season's end, there would surely be solice in what the Slidell Solution Center suggested for selections in September.

Ohio State will be ranked highly to start next year, and I would venture that Penn State will be, as well. Do I think they should be? No.

Texas and OU and absolutely better than outside of the top 15. Come on...

 

Your conference championship playoff doesn't work real well. What about Texas this year. Are you saying because the voters had a say in who was the Big 12 championship, they don't deserve a chance to play in the playoff? There are still a lot of problems with a playoff too. And don't be bitter just because your champion and other best teams have had it handed to them by the SEC, Big 12 and PAC-1 the past 3 years. It should tell you something about your teams when they have trouble competing on the biggest stages.

 

Certainly the Big 10 will have, and deserves, a team or two in the top 15. Name me 14 teams better than Ohio State or Penn State?

 

As long as all the SEC teams were ranked in front of the Big 10 teams, last year, than that would make since. Seriously, those teams got their preseason ranking for what they did the year before. Are preseason rankings legit...the answer is NO. They should not rank the teams until November.

 

Finally... a question I know the answer to without googling.

Hey, this is good if the inference is that if you win a national championship it immediately implies your conference was also the best. Wait 'til the PAC 10 learns they were the best conference when USC won the title.... they'll really get excited.... well, as excited as surfboys can get over such matters.
