This place had plenty of people who maintained their love of Alley Broussard -- as you can see for yourself on these two threads here:
    Alley Broussard quits the team
    Alley Broussard Debut at MSSU

Remember, Alley Broussard (of Acadiana H.S. in Lafayette) was ranked as one of the top 5 RB recruits in the country by Rivals -- and Alley delivered on the hype -- by the time he was a true sophomore, he beat out redshirt junior Joseph Addai to become LSU's starting running back (Broussard averaged 6.1 yards a carry that year, and led the team with 867 yards rushing). That was the year Alley set the all-time LSU record for yards in a game (250 yards against Ole Miss). Alley had pro scouts drooling over him.

Unfortunately, after that season was over, Broussard suffered a devastating knee injury during practice. Had it not been for that injury, Broussard would have been in Heisman contention during his last years at LSU, and he would have become a much bigger NFL star than Joe Addai is now. However, after that injury, NFL scouts lost interest in him. He was damaged goods. After he sat out a year on a medical redshirt, he came back to LSU, got some playing time, but wasn't that good.

I can't blame him for wanting to quit football. I'm sure once the reality dawned on him that his future NFL career was over, he cried and cried and cried. I'm glad he eventually decided to go back to football at program that didn't remind of his shattered dreams, but he's still not expected to do well in the 2008 NFL Draft -- Nfldraftscout.com projects that he will not be drafted (they rank him the 58th best RB available).

Because he simply looked at the stats posted in the original post that started this thread, and commented on Broussard's stats vs. Pitt St

I don't have a link to back it up, or anything, but I do remember shortly before it was announced that Alley was leaving the team, Jimmy Ott went on the air and quoted Alley as saying something along the lines of "I'm not getting any love around here." Not trying to jump into the argument, or anything, but I do remember that.

    uh....thanks?

anyway back to the original intent of my question which was directed towards islstl, how do you know of pitt state. i wasn't aware that they were that well known nationally.

MSSU and PSU are bitter rivals. It doesn't surprise me too much that Broussard would post such good numbers against them. I'm sure that the entire Lion football team was psyched up to play them, thus resulting in the numbers of yards Broussard gained. IE the uncharacteristically good numbers Ole Miss put up against us.
