Does anyone else feel like we didn't really lose?

I am calling all accounts next year. Coaches and players. There will be no exodus of juniors. There can be no excuse and no rationalization of the situation by the apologists.

Next year should be a good year, and the year after that. I don't understand why defending a team that is 7-3 right now is being an apologist. It's silly. So what, national championship or we run Les out on a rail?

I mention this because the game is unique. I don't normally look at it this way, but I've never seen such a comedy of errors by officiating before. As I mentioned, the only time it came close we only put three points on the board and didn't have a late lead.

You can be the better team and that can feel good even if it doesn't show up on the scoreboard. We've played like one of the best teams in the country the past few games, and it feels good no matter how negative some of you want to insist upon being.

Just offhand I can't see Danielle Hunter or Vidal Alexander coming back.

The fact if you look at the final score or in fact the final play, we were one successful play away from winning the game. That's not a lie. You might not want to believe it. You might have FELT we lost by a lot more than that. Doesn't make it a lie.

That last play was a long-shot at succeeding of course, but what about being a yard away from the touchdown in the first half? If we get the ball in there, we have a great chance in the second half.

An L is an L. That should never, ever feel good in any way. This isn't 1992. There are no moral victories.

LSU was not the better team, the scoreboard said as much. That's not being negative, that's just reality. There's no doubt LSU has gotten better as the season progressed in all phases but one. One of the best teams in the country should not be 8/26 at this point in the season. I'm not saying that's the only reason for the loss, but it's disheartening to see improvement everywhere else except the place it's needed most.

The apologists will reveal themselves next year. There is an argument for this year and it has been made over and over again. Next year I do not think that argument can hold up. 10-3 every year means there is no progress and the good record can foster complacency. see the University of Texas. When every year they say you are a good team but just can't win the big game, that is what you become. At some point the LSU fans are going to stop buying Chick-fil-A bowl tickets.

The next few years LSU should hit their crest and we all hope they do. However, we need a position to catch up this spring.

Saban only won more than 10 games in one of his five seasons. Is it being an apologist to acknowledge Miles' tenure has been the best 10-year period in LSU history?

Let's talk about what Texas did. From 1998-2003, they won between 9 and 11 games, never even going to a BCS bowl.

In 2004, they won the Rose Bowl. In 2005, they won the national championship (which was also the Rose Bowl). After two 10-3 seasons, they won the Fiesta Bowl in 2008. Then in 2009, they returned to the BCS Championship game. So are you saying they should have fired Mack Brown in 2003?

I would certainly agree with a change if we only have 30 wins in four seasons like Texas did from 2010-13 though. So if we go 5-7 (like Texas did in 2010) or even 8-5 next year, I'll be concerned. 10-3, no, not really.

30 wins in 4 season comes unexpectedly when you become self satisfied. I sense your complacency. 10-3 will always be good enough. Second place, good enough.

This year, its good enough. Next year, not good enough. Someone did not live up to expectation in their million dollar job or free ride.

That is when 10-3 isn't good enough for me. When (if ever) is it not good enough for you?
