Clueless is what our defense was last year. This year's D may not be flawless, but it's far from clueless.
Do clueless polls scare you? Come on, I dont mind the thread/subject and opinion but making it a poll is ummmhh.......whats the word......oh yeah CLUELESS!!
So I guess your answer is no. SCHEMATICALLY. Same full backfield formation with MAN coverage (ie. I have this man, you have this man) Ok, they practiced the play...so I would expect the players would know who they are covering.
College football players. They are going to make mental mistakes. Taking that as a given, you hope that they keep the mental mistakes to a minimum, and you applaud the fact that we've got the athleticism to to overcome them.
Again, if the SAME SITUATION arises again...Not the whole defense over 4 games. There obviously was confusion (i.e. clueless) on who was supposed to cover THE OPEN RECIEVER IN THE ENDZONE WHEN WE ARE DOWN BY 6 POINTS IN THE 4TH QUARTER. I'm sorry "clueless" carries so much negative weight. :geauxtige
The problem is the implication that the LSU defense is "clueless" in general. And I am sure you would not agree with that or even post a poll based on that. As the other poster alluded to, the LSU defense last year was certainly clueless. This year's defense is on the cusp of being very very good. They need to get there this Saturday in Athens.
consider the source. guilbeau would love nothing more than to muck rake and turn the fans on miles, stuff like this, even fabricated stuff works to the advantage of his agenda.
Next time i'll make sure I follow scientific method like all the other polls here and approved by you and the board of regents. Also, make sure the title is bland and without any chance of garnering any attention on a forum.
this. Our defense might be out of position from time to time this season, but at least they aren't throwing their hands up in the air before every snap like they were doing last year.
The way it is practiced does not involve sending one guy out in coverage with the back/tight end. It literally involves having Jones play just behind the line and being prepared to leap and tip such a pass if needed. It's their goal line defense against that offensive set. Notice on fourth down jones was playing behind the line once again, then was last to come in and make the game saving push on the qb. The only one clueless here is you.
