I was trying to add detail to the 'was' so that it didn't seem he had dropped the A from Atheist or I had dropped him as a friend. He was one of the best people I've ever known.

not saying it doesnt make it not true. he is a lunatic and we all know it. whether we say or not is beside the point. i think we should speak our minds in a venue like this.

i am unconcerned about if people think i am a candy-ass. it isnt relevant. perhaps i am a fat weakling, perhaps not, doesnt matter, i am not the topic. the actual topic is that our entire planet is still basically overwhelmed by myths.

 

well for the record i said a thousand times that there are billions of theists that are smarter than me, and that is why it is so interesting that they beleive. but i know you guys are worried about being thought about as second class citizens and are very sensitive. but yes, for the record theism = stupid.

if we had a chat about gay folks, and some of us admitted "yunno i will be honest gay people are disgusting and they make my skin crawl", i would appreciate the honesty even if i dont feel the same way. and maybe gay folks would be offended, oh well. honesty is good. same thing if you are racist, which i kinda am, i think black people are for most part kinda dumber. and that is clearly offensive, but so be it, i am anonymous candy-ass, i can say that if i want. its good to be honest. and religions are stupid and smarter people realize that more often than dumber people do. given two random people, and all i know is one is religious and the other isnt, i will assume the one that is not religious is smarter, and i will be right most of the time.

you say that as if it amazing. obviously i have christian friends. my dad is christian and he is the best man on earth (though not the smartest i guess). he knows what i think. it is no big deal except to you sensitive jackwagons.

the OP was a dishonest leading question. atheists are not "touchy". in fact i think i demonstrated that is the faithful that are touchy. i am happy to be questioned and mocked. when people tell me i am arrogant for lacking faith, i explain to them the flaw in their reasoning, i dont deny that i am arrogant, which i clearly am.

sure, you wont see me complaining about how i am treated personally. my complaints are generally about how faith hurts society in general, not so much me in particular.

i know you can believe these things without being stupid. you can believe lots of stupid crap without actually being stupid. i believe all sorts of stupid crap. you might say that i have stupid opinions on global warming or music piracy. but oh no we cant say that other people are stupid about religion! thats off-limits!

Since you are also claiming the 'honest' side of the discussion do you call your christian friends stupid to their face or just behind their back? Do you tell women when a dress makes their butt look fat?
