It's a lame ploy to attempt to paint one's position as "brave" and the others "cowardly".

it is said that my position is arrogant because i profess to know that god does not exist (which i do not do). so obviously i can find something that other people do not believe in and ask them why they do not, in an effort to help them understand why i dont believe in their thing. but if they are afraid of the ramifications of that point, they will pretend they cant admit that santa claus isnt real. and that is because they are afraid of the logical corner that puts them in.

it isnt arrogant or closed mided to think santa doesnt exist. thats why it is silly to say i am closed minded for not believing in whatever other fantasies people are into.

many folks here seem to be unable to grok this. my lack of proof of the non-existence of god is a non-point, in the exact same way as my santa claus example. so before you call me closed minded, then examine yourself for denying santa claus. or lie and pretend you believe in santa claus.

,it isnt always like when one person likes food X and another likes food Y and both are right. listen to what red is saying. your beliefs are myths, and imagination. if i like steak and you hate it, those are two equally valid views. but we are talking about your imagination, not reality. there are times when things are true and false and not really a matter for us to all hold hands and all be right at once. it isnt arrogant or closed minded to be sane.

You see this is where the disconnect occured. In that you have been trying to get me to debate you in regards to the existance or non existance of what someone believes. For which I continue to not be a part of this debate. In essence you have been debating yourself. Maddening isn't it. My contention has been and will continue to be with your arrogance in believing you are right and anyone that disagrees with you is a fool. Had you bothered to really read any of my posts you would have already been able to comprehend this.I do find it comical however your continued use of Santa Clause to try and win some debate about the existance of God. Using the mythical figure of Santa like he and religion actually have something to do with each other.

Your rationization is just further evidence of your lack of intelligence. Yes I know why you use Santa as your basis for an argument, but it's comical for the 2 have very little to nothing to do with each other.

I have read this paragraph three times and I have no fugging idea what you are saying. I think you've been drinking.

You are changing the subject, instead of addressing my points. I have not called you close minded or arrogant, you are hearing other voices.

no. if i didnt care, i would hold status quo. i would not have gone through all the personal strife (beared my cross, as it were) if i had not cared.

the huge majority dont care enough to search for the truth despite their society. they believe because daddy said so, or they are running from a crutch. very few ive met have a thoughtful reason for believing what they believe.

fair enough, i will work to be more precise and clear with language. lets call it a new year's resolution.

    i'm still feeling it after a drug-addled jan 1.

my bad, i thought you were speaking for people who simply are indifferent and faithless because they dont care at all.

If I thought Santa could send me to Hell, I'd believe in him.
