It's hard to teach desire. You can teach technique. You can teach execution. How do you teach a kid the desire to make the big play? I remember one play in the 2nd half when big #24 reeled off a nice run. We had three d-linemen in position to make the play, none in better position than Woods. At least Nevis had a difficult angle to make the tackle even though he was there. What did Woods do? He slapped him on the hip. I mean literally, the replay showed all he had to do was reach out and grab...or take that same hip slappin hand and slap his ankle instead of his hip. It was the gayest thing I've ever seen on a football field. Way gayer than making a QB reach under a fat dudes nuts to grab a football, lol. Disclaimer***If Al Woods turns out to be gay, that's his business, but on the football field he can't do sissy slaps like he's gonna make the jacked up highlight reel. Off topic, I bet NFL scouts are absolutely salivating over Patrick Peterson...let's hope we're able to squeeze two more years out of him instead of just one...
You cant teach effort, heart, or desire, BUT. You can sit their a$$ down if they arent giving full effort. Kids want to play, in time being held accountable will bring up the intensity level of players. I believe I know the play youre talking about. I just dont see Miles being the leader he was just two years ago. He lacks the fire he had. Its showing in the kids as well.
thats the very nature of every (football) forum in existence. thats why they exist. yet you are surprised people are here sharing their differing views and interpretations of the game? stick to the simple stuff, like the presidency. that football stuff is much too complicated.
Sweeps rely on speed so if you give your speedsters more room they'll "execute" better, at least they'll have much more of a chance.
Well, I suppose we made progress in getting turnovers, goal line stands and the long ball. Other than that, it looked like a bit of a mental step back to me.
There are many insightful criticisms every week. There are also uninformed, ignorant comments. I take issue only with the idiots who get really angry, like it's going to cost them a paycheck or something. Carry on.
so you get angry at idiots who get angry over a football game on a public football forum. whose very existence is to allow fanaticals to vent. compelling I say! as you were.
