The school and police arrested him on suspicion of a hoax bomb. Is your opinion that their stated reason for arresting the kid was just for fun?

 

Well, no. Ahmed has admitted to prior suspensions, a family friend admitted to prior suspensions, and several media outlets have reported on his prior suspensions. The specifics within his school records are private but the suspensions themselves are not a secret. Everyone knows about the movie projector incident and the bubbles in the bathroom incident. His father could give permission for those records to be available but he hasn't....and won't....because it would support everything the "other side" has been saying.

Do well-behaved kids who follow the rules get regularly suspended? Not where I'm from.

Every single one of Ahmed's comments regarding the teachers, other students, the administration, and the police motivations have been subjective. No problem with any of that, I see. And it's the police. If one chooses to be an asshole and not cooperate with the police, you take your chances.

Nonsense. His sisters set up the twitter account. The entire family stood there during Ahmed's initial press conference. They have accompanied him at every appearance, meeting, meal, you name it. I guess you missed the part where they said they will sue.

Yes, and there is a damn good reason why he was never charged and was released that very same day. Just because the police arrest you for something doesn't make it so, my friend. Sure the family stood with him, they are his family. Let me reiterate that he is 14 years old. Were they supposed to send him out there alone? He cannot drive, he cannot travel alone so why in the hell wouldn't they be with him. Those photos do kinda support the idea that the kid and his family enjoy publicity. Perhaps even more than the kid likes science and tinkering.
