Difference, Arab Spring was a bunch of ideological nut jobs overthrowing an "ally" to the United States wasn't it? Wasn't America cool with Mubarak? Wasn't America cool with Assad? What happens when Assad is overthrown? Who fills the vacuum?

Anyone who keeps saying that we need to hear the moderate voice of Islam, why aren't Muslims denouncing these violent attacks, doesn't own Google.
No you're right, why would I ever think the leader of Egypt for 30 years was ever a U.S. ally, why would I ever think the enemy of ISIL, Assad would ever be a de facto ally of the United States, what would ever give me the reason to think a bunch of religious nut jobs would take over a middle eastern country when a dictator is overthrown. Gee golly.
Ahmed Mohamed's Family Hires Lawyers to Get Clock Back, Will Homeschool Teen I thought the family had money. Can't they afford to buy new detonators? Now that Ahmed is being home schooled he has to turn in his homework to his dad. The other day he didn't have it. His dad asked him what happened to it. Ahmed said "It was in my backpack. I left it on the bus." His dad said "Good job. You get an A+ https://gma.yahoo.com/ahmed-mohamed...omeschool-015606392--abc-news-topstories.html

So Egypt and Mubarak were never allies of the United States. Assad isn't fighting ISIL. And Syria isn't filled with religious lunatics. Good to know.
No, Egypt is an ally of the United States. Mubarak was a dictator that had become a problem and had lost the support of his people. America was not "cool" with Mubarak as you claimed, we were stuck with him. We had supported a dictator in Iran who lost the support of his people and a revolution happened that caused the US to lose a valuable ally and gain an implacable enemy. We learned something from that. So should you. Now Mubarak is gone and Egypt is still a US ally. Of course he is, but he is not a "de facto ally of the US" and America is not "cool" with Assad as you claimed. He is an enemy and ISIS is an enemy and they are fighting each other. By your logic ISIS is also a "de facto ally"! In fact, both are enemies and we are arming and supporting the Iraqis, Kurds, and Syrians that are fighting them. We are cool with them, for the time being. Of course they are. It's the main reason that Syria ain't our fight. There are 1,000 militant groups in Syria and not one of them is pro-American. They all are killing each other and we will allow it and throw on gasoline. Whoever ends up in control will be weak and easily dealt with, whenever needed, by us or the Israelis. Meanwhile Israel is no longer threatened by Syria. Remember it.
