I submit to you that eventually the truth WILL come out. it might be after the season, in the form of a Crowton resignation or.... a change in play calling. I see people on here calling GC a genius and LES is hand cuffing him, and part of that might be true, Miles might be calling the plays.... But Miles might be calling the plays that work.... while GC isn't. There is some friction there, and I cant say who is the problem, but it definately will eventually come out. Miles is always reluctant to throw anyone under the bus, he likes to shoulder the blame, but behind closed doors I bet the AD knows. This offense isnt gelling and it starts on the sidelines and the press box. if I had to guess who wins this battle id have to go with the hat :milesmic:
Doesnt Crowton sit in the booth??? Perhaps the problem is the rely from him down to the sideline? Its the Phone Game...He tells Miles what play to run from the booth...Miles hears the play and decides thats not gonna work so he throws in an added feature...Miles relays it to the players but because he added Miles lingo to the call it confuses the players....and the play and drive are a bust!
Maybe we can get Laron Landry to do a cameo appearance, and call some plays. I hear his st-t-t-t-u-u-u-t-t-t-e-e-e-r-r-r is not nearly so bad anymore. Heck, it would probably speed things up.
It sure as hell couldnt hurt! I mean when WRs are Run Blocking on a Passing Play...SOMETHING AINT RIGHT!
This is funny. If you rewatch the game, on three of the sacks JJ drops back to pass, and all or all but one of the receivers are blocking instead of running routes.
I can't stand it, for alot of the reasons the OP mentions. That said, it's exacerbated by the poor offensive performances. If we were No. 1 in the SEC in scoring, I'm sure no one would have a problem with it.
I absolutely hate this offense. If we want to be a power running team, then whats the damn point of trying to get 1/3 more snaps on the offensive side. I could see it as effective if actually took a shot down the field every once in a while. I believe it also hinders the QB's ability to look at the D and call blocking scheme for the O-line.
obviously there's a disconnect....i think that we simply aren't playing to JJ's strength....his athletic ability. we need (listen up gc) to roll him out and let him run or pass....quick outs, middle screens...the dreaded bubble screen even...anything to establish a rythmn and game continuity. all of this constant checking is accomplishing is allowing him to die a thousand deaths before the snap
I have been trying to say it. There are 2 ways to watch a football game. 1. Watch the ball 2. Watch the field If you dont always focus on the ball there is so much more that will become visable and most people ONLY watch the ball! This problem was also present during the UGA game as well when the plays were coming in from the sideline.
