Love it. I'll yell at cheer at home just like at a game. Always have, always will. Not gonna forget good times or bad because some people are over critical of something they have no control or idea of. Seems to me that making suggestions as fans helps us vent. If we see it, they see it.

I gotta say that this team is not explosive, but mainly because we haven't played any real competetion, except for Saturday night. The 2 goaline stands I saw are forever etched into my memory. However, so is the loss. But, it isn't about me.

Here's the best part. I've got tickets for my wife and me for the 31st against Tulane. I'm excited as hell to be there for that game, cheer, tailgate, and cheer some more. I'll complain when something doesn't go well, but I'm just a fan, not an analyst. :geaux:

This is a good, honest post, which is unusual on TF.

The answer is that without a large amount of alcohol, I do not enjoy the Tiger games. (And I haven't gotten drunk in years.) I watch the games and cheer, but most of the time I just shake my head.

My dog leaves the room and hides under my office desk as soon as I turn the game on. (Not kidding.)

I experienced the Florida game the right way, though. I didn't watch it live because I was at a wedding. So I recorded it and played it from the beginning when I got home at about 10PM.

I strongly suspected what the outcome would be and how that outcome would be forged. So I fast-forwarded through all the commercials and all the between-snap shenanigans.

After halftime there was no drama. I got through the game in about 90 minutes total. Didn't raise my voice once. My dog slept soundly in her bed.

The final score appeared, I got online to check the stats, and I felt prophetic, but still disappointed.

This LSU team has a long way to go. Hope the good defense won't be wasted. Because LSU's offense is so bad, they could lose to LaTech and maybe even Tulane. :eek:ldskule:

    fanatic-

I can't imagine not watching every LSU game and looking forward to each one.

But I know what you mean about this particular team not being fun to watch. We have rarely started a game crisp and strong. Rarely played with a lead. Had tons of penalties. Can't consistently run the ball. All these things make the games much more frustrating to watch. At least we aren't turning the ball over as much as last year.

Glad they somehow pulled 5 games out when they could have easily lost 4 of them... but watching them play is like drinking nails.

I throughly enjoy watching the defense. The offense.......not so much. I have to say I'd REALLY like to see us get rid of that no huddle/look to the sidelines stuff. I have a feeling that is the cause of a lot of our offensive problems including the false start type penalties. Our linemen are set like statues for multiple seconds and can't move. Meanwhile the other team's defense is moving around and then get set. JJ is running around calling signals and then gets a chance to look at the defense and there are only a couple of seconds to snap the ball. The defense already knows when he is going to snap it because if he doesn't then it's delay of game. It's not a hurry up no huddle it's a slow as snails no huddle. I really don't know what the coaches think the advantage of that system is. From my perspective it makes every offensive snap seem tedious.

I would definitely say this has been the least enjoyment I have had watching LSU football in the Les Miles era.

Just way too many weapons and too good an OC for this offense to play this poorly and uninspired.

Something fundamental is definitely wrong here and this time it's not some of the players' attitude.

While the defense is getting better and better game by game, the offense is not...it's stagnant and predictable. Because opposing coaching staffs have a lot of game film to predict with, the offense is getting comparatively worse and worse. It seems incapable of adapting to the opposing defense.

I don't know if the offensive line is really pathetic or that calling the plays from the sideline is giving defenses a lot of time to figure out what's going to happen, I don't know if CLM is stifling Crowton's play calling or what. But It's plain to see that the coaches are not recognizing the problems and correcting them.

I do know that Miles saying that "it's execution...that when you call a run you should be able to run it and that when you call a pass you should be able to throw it"...is beginning to scare me.

If they can't make in game adjustments...can we please make some between game adjustments?

I still love the tigers and CLM :thumb:. and I still don't connect my self worth as a person with winning on the football field so I guess I'm still a sunshine pumper, but someting basic and fundamental has to change for us to have a successful season...even I can see that.

For me, it's a close race between last year and this year for the "least fun to watch Miles' teams." There is a difference, in that our defense is steadily improving, so I have hope that we'll end our season much better than last.

But the offense is, at times, painful to watch (like last year's defense.) I hope we can turn it around.

Some of the games have been exciting, which is fun. But I know we'd all like to see domination, and we're not seeing that. Still, there's nothing better than getting to watch LSU play football.

:geaux: Agree about the "D" improving each week and the "O" being stagnant. I'm glad we got Chavis and I hope he stays a while. The "D" has bought in to what he's sayin'. I've been trying to put my finger on what's goin' on the the offense and the only thing I can figure out is that the staff is bound and determined to not to handle JJ like they did Lee last season at any cost. If that means being vanilla/ultra conservative at times, so be it.

It's almost like the staff is so gun-shy about the possibility that JJ will throw interceptions like Lee did last year that they will not allow him to throw in high-risk/high-gain situations. They don't want to risk breaking his confidence and causing possible division on the team like was rumored last year due to the Lee pick sixes. Maybe they don't think he as the ability to throw in those situations, I don't know. One thing I do know is that Perriloux has screwed us the last two years at QB because he was a dumbass!

While I agree that being careful in certain situations is a good thing, IMO JJ should be further along than he is right now and should be running the offense more efficiently. He should know the playbook pretty well by now after starting 8 games, playing in 2 or 3 others and being in "the system" for almost two years now. IF the staff has been protecting JJ up to this point, it may be time to open it up a little bit and see if he will blossom. If he is not able to to that, then maybe let Lee play a few series during the games and let JJ watch, learn and settle down when he's struggling like in the Fla. game.

Having said it's time to "open it up", JJ has shown in just about every game this year that he panics/freezes many times under pressure and takes way too many sacks. ELEVEN in the last two games and that's TOO MANY. While it's commendable to not throw interceptions and eat the ball at times, seems to me his pocket presense maybe isn't what it should be yet and he takes the sack when other options are available, like using his feet.

Granted, the OL is not at the level it needs to be or should be at and has certainly contributed to a lot of the pressure on JJ but not all of the sacks can be blamed on them. The line is really missing the leadership of Helms and Big Herm and obviously Black and Hitt haven't stepped up to provide that yet. The FB position has also not stepped up yet, although maybe Stampley is starting to. These next two weeks off are critical to correcting a lot things to set the stage for the rest of the season.

Having said all of that, I still enjoy watching the Tigers play every chance I get. If I can't watch the game on TV, I record it and watch it later. I also try to go to Baton Rouge and catch at least one game a year in Tiger Stadium. Besides the game itself, one of my favorite game day experiences is watching the Golden Band from Tigerland come down Victory Hill to Tiger Stadium!:thumb: I get goosebumps just thinking about it.:hihi: I'll always root for and watch the Tigers whether things go good or bad. :LSU231:
