Yeh maybe a stretch you are correct I guess since our team is pretty good as well, but the US team is pretty young. Patrick Kane is the best US hockey player since Mike Modano... Not the medal round but what a great win for USA Hockey
This game might not make a difference in the long run. The US ended up being better than expected. The Canadians haven't meshed together yet and had poor goalie play. Hopefully they meet again for the Gold or for an elimination round.
to a very, very, very amateur eye, Canada has the same problems the old USA basketball teams had. Too many Iversons, not enough Battier's. Seem to be too much star power, too little blue collar labor.
Because all Canadians are now in a deep funk because the one thing in the world they are supposed to be better at than us at is hockey and they lost. Americans only care about hockey when it is us against the world. If we had lost we would all just aay, "oh well, at least we played a good game" but for the hosers of the Great White North it is a blow to their national pride Viva the young American millionaire professional hockey players who put the young Canadian millionaire professional hockey players in their rightful place.
I don't know about that. The difference in the game was Ryan Miller. For the 1st 30 minutes the USA couldn't even keep the puck out of Canada's zone. Shots on goal were 45-23. If the Hosers quit acting like they're the bee's knees they will play for the gold. I think this game woke them up. I did enjoy it, though.
There's not a lot of leadership it seems as well. The Canadian teams with Gretzky and Lemieux, and so on played very well together. Again, poor goalie play by Canada and excellent play by Miller sealed it for the USA. Brodeur should not play again.
