With the way the OL got pushed around in the AU and Arky games a little size and strength might help. It's a good thing they were quick footed because they really needed to back peddle fast to keep from getting churned under.

Who said the group we have now ARE quick Footed?? Pay attention now...all I said was they need to be to be succesfulla s a guard. I DO agree we need more size...T-bob for one is just too small to play guard, big lumbering guards mean straight ahead 3 yards and a cloud of dust type football.....that just doesn't work anymore...you have to be versitile for speed sweeps and tosses now.

:geaux: I think LSU should take this kid if he's available. I'd like to see the Tigers get back to the days of having a dominant, kick azz OL and this kid would help us do that. :thumb: Plus, I like the fact that he managed to royally piss off both AU & 'Bama. :hihi: :LSU231:

When we are a head late in the game and we want to run the football with Region size we could use him for run blocking. I know he is not the fastest OL, but his size makes up for it.

actually after he decommited from AU he was still on Bama's board but didnt have a commitable offer, but when they realized better options were available and more likely to commit, they took him off completely.

Grew up a Bama fan, but was asked to wait it out. Took public offense and impetuously verbally commits to the barn. Solved it for Bama and the rest of the merry-go-round is just more of the same pinball action. Just too much talent at his position this year. LSU missing out on G Robinson must have been a hit to keep the thread this hot.

    This...

Actually he just added AU back into his top 3. He may still come visit here but I think he knows we only have 5 spots left and Jonah Austin ended any chance he would get an offer from LSU.

Have you not been watching? LSU has been going smaller quicker at OL for the last few years. The LSU OL has been pushed around a lot. Quick and athletic is great, but if they don't have the size and get pushed around it means nothing. I would have loved to have Arkansas big slow OL in the 4th quarter in our game against them.

LSU has Gone TOO small....T-bob is just too small....I'm not nor have I ever said they need to go smaller....all I said is that a guard has to have good footwork and be able to move well to be a top tier guard....I would love to have a 345lb guard that has good footwork and can pull.....I just do not think that this guy has quick enough feet. I would take an athletic 300lb'er over a slow footed345lb'er anyday...at guard anyway.

I agree, big fast and athletic is preferred. However the Tigers aren't exactly blowing the doors off the recruiting world when it comes to OL. If we have to settle on less than the perfect guard I'd rather big and strong over fast and small. I think the OL definitely needs a bigger stronger look. You would think that Miles being a former OL at Michigan he could pull more big time OL recruits. Makes me wonder if the word on Stud being a dud has gotten around.
