Everything I"ve read here is bashing, of course Miles and Crowton, and naturally Jefferson. My question is, do the WR's get a pass for the day? Randall misses a huge catch that was probably 6 points, and then Tolliver couldn't catch a cold in the first half, ultimately getting one picked off. I think the coaches did what they were supposed to do. Stop passing the buck. Today's loss was a direct result of no catches. And don't say it's because they weren't coached to catch, because that's not true. They caught a shyt ton during the regular season. :geaux:
JJ threw several really nice passes today that were ruined by the receivers. I don't know how much of that had to do with the conditions, but clearly Penn State's receivers were able to catch the ball pretty well.
If even half of those dropped passes were caught we are likely talking about a win. I thought JJ looked pretty good, and I saw real improvement in his progressions.
good point. but i will say this. that is just part of it. everyone wants to lay it all on coaches. all on jj. all on this. all on that. how about this? it was a stinky performance all the way around? there were coaching mistakes. jj underthrew some passes. receiver dropped some passes. refs went to the sec school of incompentence in officiating. everyone is right. the fertilizer got spread around a lot today.
Hell no. They dropped several passes today, some nearly ideal. One that bounced into a defender's hands. Unfortunatly, and I think it's a raw deal for a quarterback, that all goes against Jefferson in the stats. I think we need to have a "Dropped" statistic for receivers. A pass that goes way over a receivers head= incompletion. A pass that hits the reciver in the hands and he can't find it in his heart to catch it= dropped pass.
how dare you! Miles is the worst coach ever and Jefferson is simply attrocious. /sarc And no, the WRs shouldn't get a pass, if Tolliver can catch the ball thrown straight to his hands and chest instead of letting it bounce off of him and into the PSU players arms we don't give up that 3 points and the final score is 17-16 LSU. And if Randle catches that ball the final score is 24-16. I honestly don't know what Tolliver's problem was today - i know the conditions were horrible but still he should've caught half of the balls he dropped.
